Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.

Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order’s first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

  3. I read book about Maya but did't understand. Swamiji your explanation of Maya makes me understand. Your videos greatly taught me otherwise to say clarified me Non-Duality of Advaita and different yogas are what for . Thanks so much Swamiji.

    How to overcome when very tallented children becomes unmotivated to do anything and are schizophrenic,
    How to handle the situation, and being the parent how spirituality can halp in such situation? 🙏

  5. Depression is caused by many variables, society, upbringing, pain, suffering, injustice, disease, drug addiction, alcoholism, rape, possibly genetics, etc. But one thing is for sure, pain is the leading cause of depression….

  7. Swamiji, watching this again after 18 months, as you said at 20 min, what seemed real once now looks surreal, and soon the surreal seems to be the norm, and the real seems a distant dream.
    Today in our homes and WFH seems to be norm 😇

  11. Spiritual practices are helpful when no one represents themselves as swamiji, no assets are holded by them as it is for spirituality, no fake swamijis, church fathers and maulavis. As you said swamijis shld first relax w/o collecting any money.

  12. Watching this video today, New York lifting its COVID-19 restrictions. Certainly this feels like a dream and within few years, it will feel like a memory.
